God provides a way to escape temptation (1 Corinthians 10:1–13)

Spiritual experiences, even miraculous ones, do not exempt us from temptations that are “common to man” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 

13 సాధారణముగా మనుష్యులకు కలుగు శోధనతప్ప మరి ఏదియు మీకు సంభవింపలేదు. దేవుడు నమ్మదగినవాడు; మీరు సహింప గలిగినంతకంటె ఎక్కువగా ఆయన మిమ్మును శోధింపబడ నియ్యడు. అంతేకాదు, సహింపగలుగుటకు ఆయన శోధనతోకూడ తప్పించుకొను మార్గమును కలుగ జేయును.

That may be one reason Paul wrote about how the Israelites in Moses’s day struggled with temptation, even though they witnessed mighty miracles (see Exodus 13:21; 14:13–31).

13 ¶ And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more forever.

13 అందుకు మోషేభయపడకుడి, యెహోవా మీకు నేడు కలుగజేయు రక్షణను మీరు ఊరక నిలుచుండి చూడుడి; మీరు నేడు చూచిన ఐగుప్తీయులను ఇకమీదట మరి ఎన్నడును చూడరు. 

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

14 యెహోవా మీ పక్షమున యుద్ధము చేయును, మీరు ఊరకయే యుండవలెనని ప్రజలతో చెప్పెను. 

15 ¶ And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:15 అంతలో యెహోవా మోషేతోనీవేల నాకు మొఱ పెట్టుచున్నావు? సాగిపోవుడి అని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో చెప్పుము.

16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.16 నీవు నీ కఱ్ఱను ఎత్తి ఆ సముద్రమువైపు నీ చెయ్యి చాపి దాని పాయలుగా చేయుము, అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు సముద్రము మధ్యను ఆరిన నేలమీద నడిచిపోవుదురు

17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.17 ఇదిగో నేను నేనే ఐగుప్తీయుల హృద యములను కఠినపరుచుదును. వారు వీరిని తరుముదురు; నేను ఫరోవలనను అతని సమస్త సేనవలనను అతని రథముల వలనను అతని గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులవలనను నాకు మహిమ తెచ్చు కొందును. 

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.18 నేను ఫరోవలనను అతని రథములవలనను అతని గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులవలనను మహిమ తెచ్చుకొనునప్పుడు నేను యెహోవానని ఐగుప్తీయులు తెలిసికొందురనెను. 

19 ¶ And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:19 అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెదుట సమూహమునకు ముందుగా నడిచిన దేవ దూత వారి వెనుకకుపోయి వారిని వెంబడించెను; ఆ మేఘస్తంభము వారి యెదుటనుండి పోయి వారి వెనుక నిలిచెను

20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.20 అది ఐగుప్తీయుల సేనకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సేనకు నడుమ ప్రవేశించెను; అది మేఘము గనుక వారికి చీకటి కలిగెను గాని, రాత్రి అది వీరికి వెలుగిచ్చెను గనుక ఆ రాత్రి అంతయు ఐగుప్తీయుల 

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.21 మోషే సము ద్రమువైపు తన చెయ్యి చాపగా యెహోవా ఆ రాత్రి అంతయు బలమైన తూర్పుగాలిచేత సముద్రమును తొలగించి దానిని ఆరిన నేలగా చేసెను. 

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.22 నీళ్లు విభజింపబడగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు సముద్రము మధ్యను ఆరిన నేల మీద నడిచిపోయిరి. ఆ నీళ్లు వారి కుడి యెడమ ప్రక్కలను వారికి గోడవలె నుండెను.

23 ¶ And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.23 ఐగుప్తీయులును ఫరో గుఱ్ఱములును రథములును రౌతులును వారిని తరిమి సముద్ర మధ్యమున చేరిరి. 

24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,24 అయితే వేకువ జామున యెహోవా ఆ అగ్ని మేఘమయమైన స్తంభమునుండి ఐగుప్తీయుల దండు వైపు చూచి ఐగుప్తీయుల దండును కలవరపరచి 

25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.25 వారి రథచక్రములు ఊడిపడునట్లు చేయగా వారు బహు కష్టపడి తోలుచుండిరి. అప్పుడు ఐగుప్తీయులు ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల యెదుటనుండి పారిపోదము రండి; యెహోవా వారిపక్షమున మనతో యుద్ధము చేయుచున్నాడని చెప్పుకొనిరి. 

26 ¶ And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.26 అంతలో యెహోవా మోషేతోఐగుప్తీయుల మీది కిని వారి రథములమీదికిని వారి రౌతులమీదికిని నీళ్లు తిరిగి వచ్చునట్లు సముద్రముమీద నీ చెయ్యి చాపుమనెను.

27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.27 మోషే సముద్రముమీద తన చెయ్యి చాపగా ప్రొద్దు పొడిచినప్పుడు సముద్రము అధిక బలముతో తిరిగి పొర్లెను గనుక ఐగుప్తీయులు అది చూచి వెనుకకు పారిపోయిరి. అప్పుడు యెహోవా సముద్రముమధ్యను ఐగుప్తీయులను నాశము చేసెను.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.28 నీళ్లు తిరిగి వచ్చి ఆ రథములను రౌతులను వారి వెనుక సముద్రములోనికి వచ్చిన ఫరోయొక్క సర్వసేనను కప్పివేసెను; వారిలో ఒక్కడైనను మిగిలి యుండలేదు. 

29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.29 అయితే ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఆరిననేలను సముద్రము మధ్యనున్నప్పుడు ఆ నీళ్లు వారి కుడి యెడమ ప్రక్కలను గోడవలె నుండెను.

30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.30 ఆ దినమున యెహోవా ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను రక్షించెను. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చచ్చిన ఐగుప్తీ యులను సముద్రతీరమున చూచిరి. 

31 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.31 యెహోవా ఐగుప్తీయులకు చేసిన గొప్ప కార్య మును ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులు చూచిరి గనుక ఆ ప్రజలు యెహోవాకు భయపడి యెహోవాయందును ఆయన సేవకుడైన మోషేయందును నమ్మకముంచిరి.

1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;1 సహోదరులారా, యీ సంగతి మీకు తెలియ కుండుట నాకిష్టములేదు. అదేదనగా, మన పితరులందరు మేఘముక్రింద నుండిరి. వారందరును సముద్రములో నడచిపోయిరి; 

2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;2 అందరును మోషేను బట్టి మేఘములోను సముద్రములోను బాప్తిస్మము పొందిరి; 

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;3 అందరు ఆత్మ సంబంధమైన ఒకే ఆహారమును భుజించిరి; 

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.4 అందరు ఆత్మ సంబంధమైన ఒకే పానీయమును పానము చేసిరి. ఏల యనగా తమ్మును వెంబడించిన ఆత్మసంబంధమైన బండలోనిది త్రాగిరి; ఆ బండ క్రీస్తే. 

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.5 అయితే వారిలో ఎక్కువమంది దేవునికిష్టులుగా ఉండకపోయిరి గనుక అరణ్యములో సంహరింపబడిరి. 

6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.6 వారు ఆశించిన ప్రకారము మనము చెడ్డవాటిని ఆశించకుండునట్లు ఈ సంగతులు మనకు దృష్టాంతములుగా ఉన్నవి.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.7 జనులు తినుటకును త్రాగుటకును కూర్చుండి,ఆడుటకు లేచిరి. అని వ్రాయబడినట్లు వారిలో కొందరివలె మీరు విగ్రహారాధకులై యుండకుడి.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.8 మరియు వారివలె మనము వ్యభిచరింపక యుందము; వారిలో కొందరు వ్యభిచరించి నందున ఒక్కదినముననే యిరువది మూడువేలమంది కూలిరి

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.9 మనము ప్రభువును శోధింపక యుందము; వారిలో కొందరు శోధించి సర్పములవలన నశించిరి. 

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.10 మీరు సణుగకుడి; వారిలో కొందరు సణిగి సంహారకుని చేత నశించిరి. 

11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.12 తాను నిలుచుచున్నానని తలంచుకొనువాడు పడకుండునట్లు జాగ్రత్తగా చూచుకొనవలెను

What kinds of “escape” from temptation has Heavenly Father provided for you? (see also Alma 13:27–30; 3 Nephi 18:18–19).

27 And now, my brethren, I wish from the inmost part of my heart, yea, with great anxiety even unto pain, that ye would hearken unto my words, and cast off your sins, and not procrastinate the day of your repentance;

28 But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering;

29 Having faith on the Lord; having a hope that ye shall receive eternal life; having the love of God always in your hearts, that ye may be lifted up at the last day and enter into his rest.

30 And may the Lord grant unto you repentance, that ye may not bring down his wrath upon you, that ye may not be bound down by the chains of hell, that ye may not suffer the second death.
